Privacy

Your data

Your privacy is of the utmost priority to the iHunter apps team. Personal or user generated data is stored locally on your device by default. If you choose to log in, your data is also securely synced to our cloud servers.

Your waypoints are yours and yours alone – they don’t leave your device unless you choose to log in or manually export them. Created waypoints store the location you originally marked and are connected to you as a user.

Your location is your own business, and we never record or share it for our own purposes. It only leaves your device if you decide to text, email or otherwise share it with someone else.
Features that provide real-time information about where you are, such as weather forecasts and sunrise/sunset times, are using your location to do so but are not stored.
Tracked waypoints allow you to record and save your location when you choose to. Just like other waypoints, these are encrypted and belong to you.

Your phone and contacts are for your eyes only. We don’t have access to them from the app and don’t request it. Messaging contacts and conversations within the iHunter app are all encrypted. We don’t use it for any purpose other than displaying it on the screen.

iHunter user account

When you log into your iHunter user account your content is backed up and synced with our cloud servers. This includes your messages, waypoint locations, tracks, and drawings. The data on our servers is encrypted to prevent access by any outside parties. The data is yours and is only ever accessed by us if required for specific support requests initiated by you the user.

Log in using a third party

When logging in using Facebook, iHunter is using the email address, name, and profile picture from your Facebook account. When logging in using Apple or Google Sign in, iHunter is using your email address and name.

What gets used

Some usage statistics, such as which buttons get clicked and which features get used, are recorded. This helps us improve the app by knowing what gets used and how. The usage data is stored in aggregate by our analytics provider, Google. It is not linked with any personal account info associated with your login.

When emailing support requests from within the app the message will also contain some diagnostic information about your user account and type of mobile device. This helps give us context about your setup and allows us to respond to your issue faster. It is not stored anywhere outside of the email conversation.

Disclosure for law enforcement

Under certain circumstances, iHunter may be required to disclose your data if required to do so by law or in response to valid, specific requests by public authorities (e.g. a court or a government agency). We can only provide data that has been synced with our cloud servers.

Delete your data

Deleting your iHunter app user account will remove any identifying data about you from our databases. This can be done through your profile screen in the iHunter menu. Please note that backups are purged periodically and will not happen immediately upon deleting your account.

If you have concerns or questions about the removal of your data please get in touch with us through the app or the Support page form.
